Ruby Developer

On behalf of an intimate scale-up company in the hospitality sector, we're looking for a Ruby developer who wants more than just a seat on a big team - someone who wants real ownership over the product they help build.

They are a hospitality-tech business based in Mechelen with a genuinel feel. It's small enough that everyone knows what everyone else is working on, and big enough to be actively investing in its platform - including a push into new AI-powered features. The team is looking for someone who wants to grow with the company, not just clock in and out of tickets.

They are looking for a Ruby developer to join its core engineering team and help shape the next phase of the product. This isn't a maintenance role - there's a real roadmap of new features ahead, and AI capabilities are a key part of where the product is heading next. You will work across the stack, from backend logic and infrastructure to the TypeScript-powered front end, with plenty of say in how things get built.

Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain features in Ruby across the core platform
Contribute to front-end work in TypeScript
Help design and implement new AI-driven features , from concept to production
Manage and deploy infrastructure on Azure , running on Linux
Work with PostgreSQL for data modelling, queries, and performance
Collaborate closely with a small, hands-on team including direct input into technical decisions
Take ownership of features end-to-end, from idea to release

Your Profile
Solid, hands-on experience with Ruby
Comfortable working with TypeScript on the front end
Experience deploying and managing applications on Azure
Confident working in a Linux environment
Strong PostgreSQL skills
Curiosity about AI and a genuine interest in building AI-powered features, not just following a spec
Someone who's happy in a small team, where initiative and communication matter as much as code
Based in or willing to commute to Mechelen
