Senior Python Developer
to work on a mission-critical internal monitoring platform within the energy sector. The platform monitors application health through sophisticated synthetic and log checks and provides timely alerts when intervention is required.
You will work within a multidisciplinary development community, collaborating with Software Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Architects, IT Operations and business stakeholders. The role focuses on the continuous development, reliability and optimization of Python-based monitoring and alerting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimize and maintain
Python-based software applications
and monitoring solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define software specifications.
Address customer and service requests and ensure effective resolution.
Apply best practices for
code quality, testing and CI/CD deployment .
Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.
Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex technical issues.
Collaborate with
DevOps and Data Engineering teams
to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Ensure solutions are secure, scalable and maintainable.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT/Technology or a related field.
6+ years of professional software development experience .
3+ years of hands-on Python development experience .
Strong understanding of IT security requirements, preferably within critical infrastructure.
Strong Python backend development experience with
FastAPI or a similar framework .
Experience with
Pydantic
and
AsyncIO .
Strong
SQL
experience.
Experience with
MSSQL and/or PostgreSQL .
Experience with
RabbitMQ .
Strong understanding of
service-based and event-driven architectures .
Knowledge of software design patterns, scalability and continuous integration.
Knowledge of test automation frameworks such as
Selenium .
Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor junior developers.
Experience working in
Agile environments .
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
Experience with
Azure Cloud .
Experience with
NoSQL
solutions.
Experience working with legacy code and refactoring initiatives.
Experience with
Docker
and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
Languages
English:
Good level required.
Dutch and/or French:
Good level required.
German:
A plus.
