Nexeo is currently looking for an IT Project Manager – Certificate Lifecycle Management & PKI to join the IT/Security team of one of our leading clients in Brussels. You will join a strategic IT security and infrastructure project focused on implementing an automated Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) solution for qualified digital certificates, as well as a Private Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for internal certificates. The project is structured around asset mapping & diagnosis, a Proof of Concept (PoC) with a Certificate Authority, and a potential deployment phase. As Project Manager, you will lead the first two phases and coordinate multiple technical teams including Development, Infrastructure, Security, ITIL and Monitoring. Your Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery
- Plan, coordinate and monitor the delivery of the initial project phases.
- Define project objectives, milestones, deliverables, dependencies and timelines.
- Ensure effective follow-up of project activities, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Coordinate project resources and ensure alignment across different workstreams.
- Monitor progress and ensure delivery according to agreed scope, quality and deadlines.
- Prepare the project for the potential Go/No-Go decision regarding the deployment phase. Certificate Lifecycle Management & PKI
- Supervise the mapping and inventory of assets carrying digital certificates.
- Coordinate the assessment of the existing certificate management environment.
- Contribute to the identification and assessment of security and operational risks.
- Lead and coordinate the Proof of Concept with a Certificate Authority.
- Coordinate the technical and functional validation of the CLM/PKI solution.
- Support the definition of the target Certificate Lifecycle Management and PKI environment.
- Ensure alignment between certificate management requirements, security objectives and infrastructure constraints. Stakeholder & Team Coordination
- Establish and maintain cross-functional project governance.
- Coordinate teams across Development, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, ITIL and Monitoring.
- Work closely with architects, PKI/security experts and infrastructure engineers.
- Act as the central point of contact between technical teams and project stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops and decision-making sessions.
- Build consensus and federate transversal teams without direct hierarchical authority.
- Ensure clear communication between technical experts, management and stakeholders. PoC & Business Case
- Plan and manage the Proof of Concept from preparation through evaluation.
- Coordinate technical, security and functional requirements for the PoC.
- Consolidate findings, lessons learned, risks and recommendations.
- Evaluate the PoC results against defined objectives and success criteria.
- Build and structure the business case for the future deployment.
- Prepare the necessary information and recommendations for management decision-making. Governance, Budget & Reporting
- Establish appropriate project governance, reporting and steering mechanisms.
- Prepare regular project status reports for senior management.
- Monitor project budget, costs and resource allocation.
- Track risks, issues, decisions and action plans.
- Prepare project documentation and decision materials.
- Provide clear and concise reporting to project stakeholders.

Your Profile
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, ideally in security, infrastructure or digital transformation projects.
- Strong experience managing complex IT projects involving multiple technical teams.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and federate teams without direct hierarchical authority.
- Experience managing project scope, planning, risks, budgets, resources and reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical experts and senior management.
- Experience in a public or semi-public organization is a strong advantage.
- Ability to operate in a structured, regulated and security-sensitive environment. Technical Skills Mandatory:
- Good knowledge of digital certificates and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
- Good understanding of Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) principles.
- Experience managing IT projects in a security and/or infrastructure context.
- Understanding of certificate issuance, renewal, deployment and revocation processes.
- Ability to understand technical discussions involving PKI, certificates and security infrastructure. Nice to have:
- Knowledge of ACME and SCEP protocols.
- Understanding of API-based integrations and automation mechanisms.
- Experience with Certificate Authority solutions.
- Knowledge of certificate automation and discovery solutions.
- Understanding of NIS2 requirements and cybersecurity regulatory challenges.
- Awareness of crypto-agility and post-quantum cryptography. Project Management Skills
