Automation Engineer, SCADA, – 12-Month Contract | Near Turnhout

We are currently supporting a well-established, highly automated manufacturing business in the region to recruit an experienced Automation Engineer.
This is a great opportunity to join a modern production environment with a strong focus on automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Location:
Near Turnhout, Belgium Contract: 12 months Start Date: ASAP / Flexible Rate: Market rates The Role You will be responsible for supporting and improving automated production systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- PLC programming, testing, and troubleshooting of control systems
- Supporting and maintaining automated production lines
- Fault finding across electrical and control systems
- Working with SCADA systems to monitor performance and identify improvements
- Supporting continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives Key Skills & Experience
- Strong PLC programming experience (Rockwell, TIA7)
- Experience with HMIs and control system architecture
- Knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, Modbus)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Understanding of sensors and instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow)
- Experience in manufacturing environments (food or process industry advantageous)
- Familiarity with GMP / HACCP standards is a plus
