You’ll own the backend capabilities behind Loop’s connected product platform, from authentication and diagnostics to firmware updates, device communication, fleet-data access, and usage history. /p pWorking closely with Product Management, Firmware Hardware Engineering, and Mobile Engineering, you’ll turn product requirements into scalable technical solutions and deliver secure, reliable, and seamless connected experiences for our customers. /p h3bWhat you’ll do (and what you won’t) /b /h3 ul liYou own the backend services powering Loop’s connected products end-to-end /li liYou design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable backend services and APIs /li liYou build and operate cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Storage /li liYou own deployment pipelines, environments, monitoring, operational health, and platform reliability /li liYou design secure backend solutions, including access control, infrastructure hardening, security reviews, and pre-release penetration testing /li liYou collaborate across Product, Firmware, Hardware, and Mobile Engineering to deliver reliable device-to-cloud integration, robust APIs, and optimized data flows /li liYou provide technical direction to software development partners and ensure externally delivered solutions meet Loop’s engineering standards /li liYou strengthen engineering practices through code reviews, mentoring, and continuous improvement /li /ul h3bYou won’t /b /h3 ul liwait for endless approvals /li lihide behind processes /li litalk about AI without practicing it in your workflow /li lispend months polishing work before launching it /li /ul h3bHow you’ll succeed /b /h3 pWe look for people who think big, stay curious, and aren’t afraid to go all in to make things happen. You’ll combine hands-on software engineering with systems thinking, take ownership of the platform’s operational health, and make pragmatic technical decisions that balance scalability, performance, security, reliability, maintainability, and delivery. /p h3bWhat you’ll bring /b /h3 ul liYou bring at least 8 years of experience developing production software in backend or full-stack engineering roles /li liYou have strong experience designing, building, deploying, and operating backend services and cloud-based applications /li liYou have production experience with Google Cloud Platform and Firebase services /li liYou understand API design, authentication, cloud storage, distributed systems, and modern software architecture /li liYou have experience with CI/CD, infrastructure management, monitoring, and operating production systems /li liYou bring a security-first mindset and experience applying secure software development practices /li liYou collaborate effectively within cross-functional product development teams /li liYou take a pragmatic approach to technical decision-making /li liYou use AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows to improve development, testing, debugging, documentation, and code quality /li liExperience with connected or IoT products is a plus /li liExperience working with firmware teams and device communication technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy is a plus /li liExperience supporting firmware-over-the-air update platforms is a plus /li liExperience working with consumer hardware products is a plus /li liYou’re comfortable with change and ambiguity /li liYou know when work is ready to ship, and when it can evolve /li /ul h3bLoop isn’t for everyone.
