about us
, our products, and why you'll love working at Teamleader? Check us out here. /p h3bWe Are Looking for a Senior/Lead Backend Engineer to join us /b /h3 pThe first months you'll be in a hands-on backend engineering role with a clear runway into leading a team. /p pTo start you'll own the backend of features and initiatives end-to-end for the Teamleader Focus product, built on a micro-service architecture mainly in PHP, and some Typescript. /p pThen we'll build your leadership path deliberately together: starting with technical leadership inside your team, then broadening into people and delivery leadership as you and the role are ready. We'd rather grow leads from engineers who've earned the team's trust than hire them in cold. You can have leadership experience or a clear ambition with evidence that you've been doing parts of it. /p pThe biggest challenge is AI. It's changing how our teams work and how we build the product itself. With every feature we ask what will the user do manually and what will AI take on. The shift touches almost everything we build. You'll be shaping it from the inside instead of reacting to it once it's decided. /p pbAs a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Teamleader, you: /b /p ul lipAre a key member of a cross-functional team, responsible for the backend of a feature or initiative. You turn functional challenges and acceptance criteria into skillfully crafted, easily maintainable application code. /p /li lipUse your experience to pinpoint bugs, do root cause analysis, detect bad coding patterns, identify risks, and come up with solutions that hold up as templates for the next case. /p /li lipLead technical design discussions, inside your team and with other teams, to solve problems that are bigger than one team. /p /li lipKeep a critical eye on API design and on where our abstractions are starting to leak. /p /li lipCoach more junior engineers through pair programming, code reviews, or just by asking them the right questions. /p /li lipMonitor the build, test, and deploy pipeline so your team's work reaches customers swiftly and safely. /p /li lipMake things better, once you know the Teamleader way of doing things; process, tooling, code quality. /p /li /ul pbGrowing into the lead role /b /p pThe engineers we grow into leads tend to already do some of this before anyone asks them to: /p ul lipLeading is several roles at once; managing, coaching, deciding, or just providing expertise. You recognise which to use in a specific moment. /p /li lipA team is the sum of its parts and you use that. Your decisions are the conclusion of a team discussion, not a substitute for one. /p /li lipYou can be technical inside the team and clear to stakeholders outside it, being transparent even when the message isn't a fun one to bring. /p /li lipHow the team delivers matters to you, not only what you delivered. /p /li /ul h3bHow we work /b /h3 pContinuous flow (Kanban), no story points, no sprints.
