SecWise is a fast-growing Belgian security scale-up. Our Services Tribe runs a managed SOC for a growing base of customers, backed by an Engineering Chapter that builds the automation and AI capabilities behind it. That chapter is where you come in.
This is not a maintenance job. You build things that make the SOC smarter and faster: automations, AI-driven capabilities, and production-ready tooling out of promising PoCs.
The role
You deliver on the engineering roadmap of our Services Tribe. You build SOC automations, turn PoCs into production-ready capabilities and build out our AI engineering projects. You report to the Engineering Lead.
What you'll do
- Contribute to and execute the engineering roadmap
- Build SOC automation capabilities that reduce manual work for our analysts
- Take PoCs from the Engineering Lead through to production-ready capability
- Build and implement AI engineering projects, from agentic workflows to AI-assisted triage and reporting
- Work mostly on internal projects for the SecWise SOC, occasionally on projects for a customer
- Work closely with the SOC team so what you build actually lands in daily operations Who you are
- Bachelor in Applied Information Technologies or equivalent
- Preferably 2 years of experience in security engineering, automation or a related field; strong recent graduates with something to show are welcome to apply
- You build: at least basic coding skills and understanding (Python, PowerShell or similar) and the drive to automate what others do by hand
- We use Gen AI for code writing; you don't need to write everything from scratch, but you must be able to read, review and correct generated code, and know when it's wrong
- Genuinely interested in AI and its application in security operations; you have experimented with LLMs, agents or AI tooling beyond just using a chatbot
- Experience with the Microsoft security stack (Sentinel, Defender XDR, KQL, Logic Apps) is a big plus, but not a hard requirement
- You finish things: a PoC is not done until it runs in production
- Fluent in Dutch and English Practical
- 3 days a week in our office in Leuven
- Scale-up culture with a young, driven team and room to shape your own role
