About the Role
We are seeking a Market Services Functional Analyst to join a Market Services IT Factory within a major Belgian energy distribution organization . The team is responsible for applications that collect, process, and manage meter data from both smart and electromechanical meters. You will work across the full application lifecycle, supporting both project delivery and ongoing system maintenance , with a focus on meter data management platforms and their integration within a complex energy IT ecosystem. Key Applications PRISM (HPCM, Smart Meter Management, Remote Operations) COMET (EnergyIP, Smart Meter Data Collection) Integrated meter data and market services systems Responsibilities Application Maintenance Gather and document business requirements Write user stories for bug fixes and enhancements Perform end-to-end testing on systems and integrations Analyse and document defects, collaborating with developers and vendors Provide functional support to business users Handle incidents from business teams and monitoring tools Project Activities Propose functional and technical solutions for business needs Document and validate functional and technical specifications Execute end-to-end testing on delivered solutions Support bug fixing during test and implementation phases Work closely with development vendors to resolve issues Translate business requirements into system changes Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills Strong experience with SQL databases (Microsoft SQL Server / Oracle SQL) – minimum 3 years Experience with backlog tools (e.g., Azure DevOps or equivalent) Experience with test management tools (e.g., HPQC / ALM or equivalent) Experience as a Functional Analyst / Business Analyst – minimum 5 years Domain Experience Experience in the energy / utility sector (Belgium preferred) – minimum 3 years Understanding of metering systems (HPCM, AMR, MV90 or similar) is an advantage Exposure to EnergyIP or similar meter data management platforms is a plus Experience in IT/application monitoring setup is a plus Language Requirements French: C1 level (CEFR) – mandatory Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset Structured, methodical, and detail-oriented Curious and eager to learn Excellent communication skills Proactive, autonomous, and reliable Strong team collaboration skills Additional Information Hybrid setup with mandatory on-site presence in Gosselies (minimum 2 days/week; additional days may be required depending on project needs) A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required due to limited public transport access Occasional travel to other operational sites may be required Role involves access to sensitive systems; background checks and reference validation will be required in line with ISO 27001 requirements
