The Belgian, German and European energy landscape is in full swing. Did you know that Elia Group plays a crucial role in this?

As part of Elia Group, a European transmission system operator, Elia Belgium and 50Hertz in Germany ensure the reliability and sustainability of the electricity supply in both countries.

Side‑by‑side with your colleagues, you will, as a Senior Business Analyst, play a part in building a sustainable, green and reliable energy infrastructure that stimulates economic growth and reduces our ecological footprint.

The Senior Business Analyst supports complex change initiatives with a specific focus on the Procure‑to‑Pay end to end process, which includes procurement, finance, treasury and controlling‑related processes.

Acting as a bridge between business departments, Product Owners, IT roles and other stakeholders, the Business Analyst translates strategic objectives into operational needs and clear requirements, while identifying dependencies across related products. In this way, the role helps ensure that solutions are goal‑oriented, traceable and value‑driven.

In particular, the Business Analyst is responsible for:

  • Analyzing, structuring, and describing cross‑functional business processes, problem statements and requirements in close collaboration with the different involved business units, with a focus on end‑to‑end Procure‑to‑Pay processes and related products.
  • Identifying, documenting, and aligning business requirements and translating them into functional concepts, e.g. in the form of use cases, process models or user stories.
  • Translating strategic objectives and business priorities into operational needs, requirements and analysis deliverables that can be used by product and delivery teams.
  • Identifying and transparently communicating dependencies, impact chains and alignment needs across related products within the Procure‑to‑Pay context.
  • Supporting business units and Product Owners as a sparring partner, particularly in clarifying objectives, translating strategic priorities into operational needs, assessing alternative solutions and prioritizing requirements while maintaining a good understanding of the different business stakeholders involved.
  • Supporting the different product and delivery teams in backlog‑related clarifications, refinement activities and the continuous elaboration of requirements in a cross‑product context.
  • Modelling processes, information flows, dependencies and impact chains across products to establish a shared understanding between business and delivery partners.
  • Taking responsibility for the quality of analysis artefacts (“evidence base”) as a foundation for well‑informed decisions.
  • Developing decision‑making and prioritization inputs in agile contexts, e.g. for assessing business value, risks, dependencies, impacts and alternatives.
  • Formulating and validating user stories including acceptance criteria and supporting the assurance of functional quality of solutions.
  • Accompanying implementation activities, including functional alignment with IT, delivery teams and Business Analysts from related product domains, as well as reviewing functional and technical concepts with regard to achievement of objectives.
  • Preparing, facilitating and documenting workshops and alignment formats with different stakeholders.
  • Supporting knowledge build‑up and transfer, e.g. through training sessions, documentation or functional support after solutions go live.
  • Contributing to the further development, establishment and reputation of the
business analysis practice within the organization.
