This group acts as a central hub within the organisation to support strategy development and centrally coordinate sustainability and ESG related activities across the company and externally with the objective of embedding sustainability into all dimensions of Toyota's business, improve positions of Toyota's actions on sustainability, identifying the priorities and engaging all stakeholders for a positive impact.
As part of Sustainability & ESG Management Group, overall mission of Environmental Management is to act as a coordinating window between Toyota Motor Europe and National Marketing & Sales Companies, European Manufacturing Companies and the parent company Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan for environmental compliance, tracking of legislative developments, implementation of environmental legislation requirements, coordinating environmental management system and leading 5-year Environmental Action planning & implementation.
This is a dynamic division in TME, where you'll be able to present your own ideas and contribute to your self-development by engaging many areas of the business from sustainability to product development, sales to business strategy.
We are seeking an Interim to maintain and further develop our compliance activities in the field of Batteries to fulfil the requirements of the EU Batteries and Waste Batteries Regulation (EUBR) and maintain the established schemes for battery end-of-life management within the Toyota network.
Details of the main responsibilities are;
Compliance activities in context of EUBR:
- Take the lead on end-of-life management related compliance activities,
- Ensure requirements are well understood and correctly implemented by relevant stakeholders
- Monitor the progress of implementation
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to foster implementation
- Collect, analyse, consolidate data for adequate reporting internally and externally
End of Life Management of Batteries:
- Maintain communication with national marketing companies and manufacturing companies regarding end-of-life management of batteries,
- Support national marketing companies and manufacturing companies regarding their inquiries,
- Coordinate solution partners related to each battery stream,
- Contribute to Battery 3R activities
Supporting regular discussions with Toyota Motor Corporation on batteries:
- Align on agenda items for regular meetings with mother division, Ensure important topics are raised to the attention of counterparts,
- Follow up on decisions taken on next actions,
- Support mid-year and end-year reporting.
WEEE Management (Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
- Monitor legislation changes/updates and report,
- Analyse impact on Toyota in case of any legislative changes,
- Communicate with internal divisions regarding updates on WEEE,
- Support national Toyota companies regarding annual reports to authorities. Profiel - You have a Master's or a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering / Environmental Sciences/ Sustainability or other relevant areas
- You have good understanding of EU legislation and environmental management (experience regarding EUBR is an asset)
- You are accurate in numbers and follow up of projects,
- You are result driven and a pragmatic problem solver,
- You have a mature personality able to liaise with all levels of the company,
- You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools,
