Find out more:Our approach to R&DPosition SummaryYou will lead delivery of scientific lab data solutions that make data secure, findable and ready for reuse across R&D. You will work closely with lab scientists, IT, quality, validation and suppliers to design and deliver data standards, storage and archiving solutions. ResponsibilitiesThis role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Lead end-to-end lab data management projects, from requirements to delivery and handover.
- Define and implement data standards, metadata models and file formats to improve findability and reuse.
- Design and maintain strategies for secure storage, archiving and retrieval of electronic lab data.
- Work with IT, validation and quality to ensure solutions meet data integrity, security and regulatory expectations.
- Advise laboratory teams on data capture from instruments and automated platforms and on integration with lab systems.
- Provide training, governance and change support to help teams adopt new lab data practices.
Why You?Work modelThis role is hybrid. You will be expected to work regularly on-site at our Belgium site and collaborate with colleagues across regions. Occasional remote work is possible.
Basic QualificationWe are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
- Degree in life sciences, data science, bioinformatics, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in lab data management, scientific data stewardship or related role within R&D or a regulated environment.
- Practical experience defining metadata standards, data models or controlled vocabularies for laboratory data.
- Experience with data storage, archival strategies or data lifecycle management for scientific data.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams including scientists, IT, quality and vendors.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus.
Preferred QualificationIf you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field such as bioinformatics, data science, or life sciences.
- Experience with lab information systems, instrument data pipelines or ELN/LIMS integration.
- Familiarity with data integrity principles and regulatory requirements for lab data.
- Working knowledge of scripting or data tooling (for example Python, SQL) to support data handling.
- Experience designing training, governance and adoption approaches for new data practices.
- Prior experience in project management or leading cross-functional data projects.
