Backed by long-term institutional investors, the company is expanding rapidly and preparing for international growth. /p pThe Project Engineering Manager (BESS) will play a critical role in delivering grid-scale battery energy storage projects from early-stage development through construction and commissioning. This is a hands-on project engineering leadership position, responsible for technical coordination, engineering quality, and interface management across multiple concurrent BESS projects. You will work closely with development, procurement, construction, and HSE teams, as well as EPC contractors, consultants, and grid operators, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and on budget. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead engineering design, coordination, and technical reviews for large-scale BESS projects. /li liManage project engineering activities from development through construction handover. /li liEnsure compliance with Belgian regulations, grid requirements, and technical standards. /li liCoordinate multidisciplinary internal teams (civil, electrical, development, procurement, construction, HSE). /li liInterface with external stakeholders, including EPCs, Owner’s Engineers, consultants, architects, permitting authorities, and grid operators. /li liSupport site assessments, geotechnical investigations, layout optimisation, and early-stage engineering feasibility. /li liContribute to tendering and procurement by preparing technical specifications and evaluating bids. /li liOversee civil and structural engineering deliverables (foundations, drainage, access roads, site infrastructure). /li liAct as engineering lead during construction, supporting site activities, inspections, factory acceptance tests, and contractor coordination. /li liMonitor engineering progress, technical risks, and quality throughout execution phases. /li liEnsure accurate documentation, design reviews, and as-built records are completed to required standards. /li /ul h3Your Profile /h3 ul liBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. /li li7+ years’ experience in engineering roles within energy, renewables, or infrastructure projects. /li liProven experience delivering Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) or similar grid-scale energy projects. /li liStrong understanding of civil and structural engineering, including groundworks, drainage, and site infrastructure. /li liExperience managing multiple complex projects concurrently from a project engineering or owner’s engineer perspective. /li liFamiliarity with Belgian permitting and construction processes is highly advantageous. /li liSolid understanding of electrical–civil interfaces (cable routing, equipment foundations). /li liKnowledge of HSE standards and grid connection processes is a strong plus. /li liProficient in AutoCAD and related engineering tools. /li liFluent in English and French; Dutch is a strong advantage. /li /ul h3Personal Attributes /h3 ul liHighly solution-oriented with a strong problem-solving mindset. /li liSelf-starter with a pragmatic, “get-it-done” approach. /li liCollaborative team player with strong stakeholder management skills. /li liPassionate about the energy transition and battery technologies. /li /ul pApply today or contact Rafe Petitt for more information. /p h3Seniority level /h3 pMid-Senior level /p h3Employment type /h3 pFull-time /p h3Job function /h3 pEngineering and Information Technology /p pIndustries: Staffing and Recruiting /p /p
