Job ID: 188 Position title: Electromechanical Engineer – DYMO Location: Sint-Niklaas, BE Reports to: Technical Manager Contract type: Permanent, full-time, on-site Your Role & Team in a Nutshell As an Electromechanical Engineer you will have technical responsibility for execution of all projects related to manufacturing equipment and processes. You will be part of Technical Department of 9 people in our highly automated manufacturing site in Sint-Niklaas, where we produce DYMO consumables. We will help you achieve your goals and develop by providing regular feedback and access to online training courses. Your Key Responsibilities: Technical responsibility for assembling, slitting and packaging processes. Continuous improvement of the production process. Responsible for scrap and reject control. International market research and benchmarking concerning automation, assembling and packaging equipment. Participation in various sub-projects of the Newell Brands Improvement Program (PEAK). Working closely together with other engineers (automation, injection-moulding, facility, coating and printing, testing, maintenance). Participating in electro-mechanical, mechanical and automation projects, where the expectations are to work autonomously within the available requirements and specifications. Work closely with external systems integrators, subcontractors and other departments in the company to find the best possible solution + negotiate & discuss with all involved to find the optimal solution. Ensure a smooth transfer during and after the handover of projects to the maintenance team + provide the necessary training and support Take part in post-delivery continuous improvements and optimizations and the follow-up of the projects. Comply with existing policies, instructions and procedures regarding Safety, Environment, ISO. What You’ll Need Minimum: Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, automation or related fields, or equivalent experience Proven experience in managing technical projects Very good knowledge of tolerance setting and production preparation, from drawing to piece Knowledge of statistics (Minitab, SPC, checklists) or willingness to learn Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) Fluent in English (verbal and written) and willing to learn Dutch Ready to travel for short periods Your advantage: Programming of PLC’s and operator panels (Omron, Siemens, Beckhoff) Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team towards a solution Ability to think out of the box and focus on problem solving Eager to learn, curious, willing to share and influence What You Gain Newell Brands has a strong footprint in the EMEA region, with several thousand employees spread over many corporate offices and manufacturing facilities.
