Voor het project Proximus TV: Monitoring van testomgevingen in een private Cloud, zijn we op zoek naar een eindejaarsstudent(e) die bereid is om op onze dienst een stage te doen in het eerste semester van het schooljaar 2024-2025.
Beschrijving :
Begin 2024 is er een nieuwe TV Backend geïnstalleerd in de private Cloud van Proximus. De TV Backend is het geheel van server applicaties die de aanvragen van de clients (de TV Settop boxen) verwerken.
Begin 2025 zal er een belangrijke upgrade in deze nieuwe Backend plaatsvinden. Om ervoor te zorgen dat deze upgrade voor onze eindklanten (TV kijkers) transparant zal gebeuren zijn er vanzelfsprekend uitgebreide tests nodig. Daarvoor kunnen we beschikken over verschillende testomgevingen. In dergelijke testomgevingen worden verschillende componenten, beheerd door verschillende teams, geïntegreerd om End-to-end tests mogelijk te maken.
Voor de testers is het noodzakelijk om de operationele status van de verschillende componenten te kennen, om zodoende te weten of bepaalde End-to-end tests mogelijk zijn.
Daarnaast is het ook belangrijk om instrumenten te hebben om in geval van problemen de oorzaak te kunnen opsporen.
Tenslotte willen we ook de prestaties (snelheid van antwoord, aantal verwerkte taken per tijdseenheid) kunnen meten, om zeker te zijn dat na de upgrade minstens dezelfde graad van performantie bereikt wordt.
Met behulp van tools zoals Splunk, Dynatrace, Elastic Search en Nagios, en dashboards zoals Kibana en Grafana kunnen we zowel monitoring als debugging doorvoeren, en de prestaties meten.
Deze tools zijn voorhanden, maar het praktisch gebruik ervan in testomgevingen staat nog niet op punt.
De bedoeling van deze stage is te onderzoeken hoe we de beschikbare tools op de beste manier kunnen inzetten, en de resultaten met elkaar kunnen integreren.
De student(e) zal tijdens zijn/haar eindwerk volgende punten aanpakken:
de bestaande IDTV oplossing leren kennen zich vertrouwd maken met de nieuwe Cloud omgeving de testomgevingen verkennen onderzoeken welke monitor systemen het best gepast zijn voor elke testomgeving een set van parameters bepalen om de prestaties van de Backend te bepalen de monitor en de performantie resultaten met een dashboard visualiserenJe Profiel
