A few years of relevant professional (hands-on) experience within a production environment.
Technical background and experience in Safety Management is recommended.
Knowledge of Belgian HSE legislation (Wet Welzijn, Vlarem, …).
EducationBachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
First experience in a similar role, preferably in a GMP environment.
Sound understanding of Belgian HSE regulations and standards.
Degree in Safety Prevention advisor level II is an asset.
HSE Coordinator
The HSE coordinator supports Biocartis to realize its effort to be a safe and environmentally sound workplace. The HSE Coordinator will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining our HSE programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, as well as promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
Accountabilities
Support development and implementation of HSE Policies and Procedures: Collaborate with different departments to develop, implement, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with local regulations and international standards. Support the development of Biocartis' sustainability program : collect and validate data, admin support. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits of workplace environments, processes, ergonomics and (new) equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate measures are in place to mitigate risks. Training and Education: Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees at all levels to promote awareness, understanding, and compliance with HSE policies and procedures. Incident Investigation and Reporting: Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, and environmental spills to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Report internally and externally as required. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in HSE regulations and standards applicable to the organization's operations and ensure compliance through regular audits and assessments. Provide advice as required. Emergency Preparedness and Response: Maintain emergency response plans and procedures to effectively respond to and manage HSE emergencies such as fires, chemical or biological spills, and medical emergencies. Review regularly the risk assessment related to fire. HSE Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Keep track of performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track the effectiveness of HSE programs and initiatives. Prepare regular reports for management on HSE performance, trends, and areas for improvement. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in HSE performance, processes, and practices through data analysis, benchmarking, and feedback from stakeholders. Ensure collection and keeping up-to-date documentation for the HSE management system or legally required documentation. Support well-being activities: support psychosocial risk assessment, development, and implementation of an action plan.Profile requirements
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. First experience in a similar role, preferably in a GMP environment.
