Swoove is developing a mobile app that empowers users to create their own animations effortlessly. Our goal is to make high-quality animation accessible to everyone, whether they are beginners or professionals. We are looking for a Technical Animator to research and develop innovative solutions in Unity, improving our animation systems and workflows. This role involves designing and implementing tools that enhance the animation creation experience while ensuring performance and usability.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and refine real-time animation systems, including procedural animation, state machines, and animation blending in Unity.
  • Work with Unity's animation systems, including Animator Controller, Animation Rigging, and Timeline.
  • Develop and integrate real-time IK (Inverse Kinematics) systems for character animation and dynamic interactions.
  • Create custom animation tools to improve workflow efficiency for animators and designers.
  • Optimize animation performance, ensuring smooth transitions and low computational overhead.
  • Work closely with animators and programmers to develop interactive character behaviours and procedural motion.
  • Debug and resolve technical animation issues related to rigging, skinning, and animation blending.
  • Stay up to date with emerging animation technologies and workflows to improve real-time animation quality.

Requirements

  • Strong Unity experience, particularly with animation systems and procedural animation techniques.
  • Proficiency in real-time IK systems, rigging, and animation blending.
  • Experience in state machines, procedural animation, and runtime animation modifications.
  • Strong knowledge of C# scripting for animation tools and automation.
  • Solid understanding of character physics, secondary motion, and dynamic animation effects.
  • Ability to debug and solve technical animation issues related to rigging, skinning, and animation blending.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with animators, designers, and engineers.

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with procedural animation and physics-based animation systems.
  • Experience with DCC tools (Maya, Blender, Houdini) and their animation workflows.
