Research Engineer Smart Manufacturing FUNCTIE Bouw mee aan de fabriek van de toekomst Bij Flanders Make werk je aan de digitalisering van de industrie. Je ontwikkelt innovatieve oplossingen op het snijvlak van data science, software engineering en industriële automatisatie. Samen met een multidisciplinair team bouw je aan prototypes die bedrijven inspireren en ondersteunen in hun transformatie naar slimme, duurzame productie. Jouw rol Als Research Engineer Smart Manufacturing: Ontwikkel je data-gedreven toepassingen voor productieomgevingen; Analyseer je complexe datasets uit industriële processen om trends, patronen en optimalisatiekansen te ontdekken; Werk je aan end-to-end data captatie op de werkvloer en zorg je voor terugkoppeling naar processen methode-ingenieurs; Ontwikkel je reasoning tools en AI-oplossingen die suggesties doen voor verbetering, zowel richting machines als menselijke beslissers; Bouw je IIoT-infrastructuren die databronnen verbinden en automatisatie van data ingestion pipelines mogelijk maken; Ontwerp en implementeer je softwarearchitecturen op basis van bestaande bouwblokken; Werk je met cloud- en edge-technologieën en zorg je voor veilige, schaalbare oplossingen; Onderzoek je hoe data-analyse technieken kunnen bijdragen aan verhoogde productiviteit, kwaliteit en efficiëntie in de Vlaamse maakindustrie; Pas je inzichten toe op toepassingen zoals planning, scheduling, kwaliteitscontrole en productiviteitsverhoging, rekening houdend met variabiliteit in productie. PROFIEL PhD in Computerwetenschappen, AI, Elektromechanica, of een gelijkaardig domein; Minstens 3 jaar ervaring in backend-ontwikkeling van cloud-, edge- of IoT-toepassingen; Sterke programmeervaardigheden (Python, JavaScript, SQL, Azure, RDBMS, graph databases); Kennis van industriële automatisatie (OPC-UA, PLC, SCADA) is een plus; Ervaring met data science technieken zoals process mining, deep learning of statistische modellering; Creatieve denker met analytisch inzicht en een passie voor technologie; Vermogen om fysische processen te begrijpen en te vertalen naar digitale toepassingen; Teamspeler met goede communicatievaardigheden en een leergierige mindset.
