Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a Statistical Methodology Lead to join us in our Biometrics & Data Science team, based in any of our Brussels (Belgium), Monheim (Germany), Slough (UK) or Atlanta or Raleigh (US) offices.About the roleIn this role you will serve as an influential senior statistical consultant and technical leader across all statistical groups and therapy areas. You will define the strategy for key areas of innovation within UCB. You possess industry leading expertise in a unique and relevant area of statistical methodology, for example innovative study designs and Bayesian statistics, or have breadth of knowledge across a wide range of advanced statistical methodologies. You will interface effectively across a key section of the value chain, for example early phase statistics or late phase.Who you’ll work withYou will report into the Head of Advanced Methods & Data ScienceWhat you’ll doDefines strategy to develop innovative approaches for key areas and drives implementation in areas which will help accelerate the development process.Identify strategy and lead the development, assessment and introduction of new statistical technology and methodology, including statistical model-based drug development approaches using frequentist and/or Bayesian methodologies.Performs as a highly competent and experienced senior level biostatistician by functioning as a technical resource and internal statistical consultant across therapy areas, and as a coach/mentor to BDS staff.As needed, carries out, or supervises, advanced statistical analyses to address complex design problems across therapy areas, for instance, performing complex simulations to determine sample size and power considerations for different study design options.Stays current with ongoing developments in statistical methods applications in the pharmaceutical industry.Provides statistical sciences training to UCB employees from different disciplines on advanced statistical conceptsInterested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or similar scientific discipline requiredSeveral years experience in biostatistics with relevant Pharma experienceStakeholder management experienceStatistical methodology and publication and academic track recordStrong computer programming skills, including R and/or other languagesAre you ready to ‘go beyond’ to create value and make your mark for patients?
