Job Description
As a Senior Broker within the Facultative Benelux team of Aon Reinsurance Solutions you are responsible for advising clients as well as prospects on the full spectrum of reinsurance services available. It is our job to assist our clients in maintaining and improving their business, protecting their P&L account and optimizing their position.
Your position will be based in Belgium (Brussels ) and you will be working in a team of professionals in providing value-added products and services to Belgian insurance companies. All the facultative team members work on all lines of business, but the main is property related.
You will liaise with the Aon Commercial Risk departments within the Benelux, developing initiatives to increase the cooperation and so bring the best of Aon as a whole to the client. During the design of complex placements you will work closely with the retail brokers.
Within Aon, we work as a team. In your daily job, you will be supported by the Facultative team based in Amsterdam. You will closely work with a colleague Senior Broker who is based in Diegem and travel to the Netherlands when needed. The placement of the reinsurance cover is often done in close cooperation with our UK based colleagues.
Your main responsibilities are:
Successfully negotiate and place reinsurance cover of our existing book of business. Expand the existing Facultative book of business in the Belgium market (and Luxembourg) Strengthen the relationship with our retail brokers and with our clients and manage all commercial aspects of the client relationship. Focus on business development, also in lines of business that we want to grow. Liaise with the Aon Reinsurance teams throughout Europe. Stay tuned and updated with product development, risk and capital management and finance for all commercial and technical aspects. Demonstrate that Aon Reinsurance Solutions is the leading reinsurance intermediary providing tailor-made solutions. Maintain Aon's relationship with Professional Associations and other major market players and enhance Aon's presence in the market by attending seminars, insurer and reinsurer events.Requirements
As the senior broker you are characterized by your commercial spirit and behavior with an eye for detail. You have knowledge of the reinsurance market and bring your network and experience to your day to day job.
In addition you have:
An university degree or equivalent and/or a minimum of 10 years` experience within the insurance industry. Preferably within broking and/or reinsurance Great communication, advisory and negotiating skills. Fluent command of the Dutch, English and French language. Flexibility to work in Belgium and be part of the Dutch team, requiring the need to travel to Amsterdam or Rotterdam regularly.Interested?
