**Who we are supporting**
The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO's member countries and its partners. The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
The NCIA provides a wide range of services, including:
- Cyber Security: The NCIA provides advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO's communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.
- Command and Control Systems: The NCIA develops and maintains the systems used by NATO's military commanders to plan and execute operations.
- Satellite Communications: The NCIA provides satellite communications services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.
- Electronic Warfare: The NCIA provides electronic warfare services to support NATO's mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.
Overall, the NCIA plays a critical role in ensuring the security and effectiveness of NATO's communication and information technology capabilities.
**The program**
**Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS)**
The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO's principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V.
To provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain high performance-engaged workforce. The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categorise's: NATO International Civilians (NIC)'s, Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC)'s. The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.
**Role Duties and Responsibilities**
They will be responsible for:
- Reviewing, testing and improving technical documents, manuals, procedures, technical specifications, and process documentation, explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Transforming existing documentation into living documents within an EDMS-based system.
- Implement and manage version control processes and ensure proper document lifecycle management.
Main responsibilities:
- Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with project teams to understand Cyber Security documentation needs and requirements;
- Research, create, and maintain documentation templates that uphold organizational standards, and allow for easy data migration;
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation;
- Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.
- Create, test and maintain the list of remote systems, as they Respond to related ad-hoc tasks given by the service delivery manager and section head
**Essential Skills and Experience**
- 2 years of proven experience preparing and updating technical documents and guidance, ideally in an IT environment;
- Proficiency in MS Office;
- Experience with creating, managing, customizing content in MS SharePoint
- Previous experience with Enterprise Document Management System, ideally as an administrator;
- Experience working with engineering teams to refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content;
- Experience in reviewing and providing administrative inputs into the development and maintenance of documents.
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics;
- Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
- Experience with supporting IT environments in positions where it was necessary view at things from another perspective (similar to user support).
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, with the ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles and successfully articulate complex issues to a variety of audiences and teams.
**Desirable Skills and Experience**
- Previous experience and knowledge as technical author in the area of Cybersecurity;
- Experience with the technical aspects of endpoint protection controls like antimalware;
- Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements;
- Experience in reviewing and providing administrative inputs into the development and maintenance of NATO documents.
