**Job Description**:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Belux role is a field-based (Luxembourg and Wallonia) customer facing role, with activities focused on Key Medical Experts (KMEs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) with the intent to maximize medical one-on-one and group interactions with KMEs/HCPs.
The MSL acts as a scientific expert, with a comprehensive knowledge of Biogen products, disease state and competitor products and establishes long term scientific/strategic relationships with leading specialists (physicians, nurses, etc.) and academic centers of excellence. He/she ensures that KMEs/HCPs/ scientific and academic centers/organizations have access to relevant and informative scientific information and facilitates KME/HCP involvement in educational forums to optimize meaningful scientific knowledge exchange. He/she utilize their medical/scientific expertise to gather medical insights and to support research/data generation initiatives. He/she serves as an important partner to internal stakeholders through communication of relevant information.
**Principal Accountabilities**:
EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS:
Acts as a trusted and credible medical science discussion partner by engaging in scientific/ medical exchange with HCPs/ stakeholders as appropriate on the disease and the Biogen products. This may include:
- Develop, maintain, and implement KME/HCP engagement plans to build and maintain strong scientific relationships, such that Biogen is recognized as an industry partner of choice.
- Provide current, accurate and balanced scientific education to KMEs/HCPs and facilitate data discussions in relevant therapeutic areas.
- Provide scientific presentations to individual physicians or groups of physicians, e.g. scientific meetings, round table meetings, etc.
- Provides expertise to HCPs and other stakeholders who wish to present data on Biogen disease area and related products.
- Drive regional/local medical projects and ensure relevant high quality stakeholder engagement on the project.
- Reactively explore & facilitate clinician-driven ideas for Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs) and Sponsored Research Agreements (SRAs).
- Ensures scientific accurate responses to medical questions coming from HCPs.
INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS:
- Work with relevant commercial counterparts to address specific local needs from a medical perspective, in alignment with medical plans.
- Participate were relevant in integrated brand team meetings, to provide in-field medical updates, trends, insights and competitor intelligence.
- Contribute to in-field medical training of Area Business Managers (ABMs) and be available as a medical resource for the Sales team, to support educational events and presentations.
- Collaborate with relevant medical teams to develop strategy and execute tactics on the communication of complex scientific. information to relevant KMEs/HCPs.
- Provides coverage at scientific/medical/professional meetings.
- Gather medical insights to inform market access activities, life cycle management and investigational compounds.
MSL INTERNAL ACTIVITIES:
- Keep up to date of relevant medical literature. Review literature alerts.
- Reports information and activities per company policy and requirement.
- Adheres to company and regulatory agency guidelines regarding clinical investigation, dissemination of info and ethical conduct.
- On request, attend national and international conferences and provide a medical summary of these conferences to internal stakeholders.
- Participates in Pharmacovigilance (PV) reporting.
**Qualifications**:
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (pharm, PhD, MD) or biomedical degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Native French speaking/Strong English-speaking skills/ Sufficient understanding of Dutch.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in industry or clinical setting.
- Preferred experience as a MSL or equivalent.
- Preferred experience in field neurology, immunology.
