To meet the major challenges that the energy transition represents for the energy sector, as manager of the gas, electricity and public lighting distribution networks in Brussels, needs to modernize its Asset Management practices. This is why the client has launched a new program called "Asset Intelligence", aimed at optimizing and digitizing its asset management practices.
Our client wants to implement a "Digital Twin" of its electricity network to be able to simulate load evolution scenarios, and an "Asset Investment Planner" to plan medium
- and long-term investments and maintenance activities to remedy the estimated constraints of new uses, and to optimize these maintenance and renewal programs.
The DT is the client's digital representation of the HV/LV network, which will be used to simulate load evolution scenarios linked to electric vehicles, photovoltaic panels,...., etc.
The planned Asset Investment Planning tool will support the client in:
- Generating and optimizing all or part of its long-term (30-year) Investment and Maintenance plan,
- The definition of its 5-year Multi-Year Plan and its investment and maintenance plan for the following year.
- Monitor the implementation of the current year's plan, and if necessary, adapt the plan to unforeseen events encountered during the year.
To achieve this, the tool must, among other things, enable:
- Model the objectives to be optimized;
- Import of network structure, assets and load;
- Model the life cycle and criticality of assets in the network;
- Calculate the evolution of asset-related "risk impacts";
- Modeling of intervention parameters;
- Simulation and optimization of investment and maintenance plans;
- Project/portfolio management and monitoring of investment and maintenance plans.
As part of the GIS & Asset Management team, you will work as an Asset Management expert for the Asset Intelligence program. You will be kept informed of the progress of the DT project and you will help the client to formally define realistic expectations for the realization of a Proof of Concept of an AIP and to evaluate the results of this POC. If the results of this POC are positive, you will be asked to act as an expert in the drafting of specifications for the acquisition of the final AIP solution and associated services.
As an Asset Management Expert, you will contribute to the project on an ad hoc basis, at the request of the client:
- You acquire knowledge of the project by reading existing documentation and interviewing project participants.
- You intervene as an Asset Management expert in workshops organized by the client to guide discussions based on your expertise.
- You analyze the client's specific needs in terms of asset investment planning. This will include assessing current processes and the status of discussions on future processes.
- In collaboration with internal stakeholders, you will define specific best practices adapted to the needs of our organization, with possible suggestions for optimization. You will confirm or complete the recommendations of preliminary studies on how to optimize investment planning, taking into account strategic objectives, budgetary constraints, risks and asset performance.
- You will be called upon to answer specific questions relating to the Enterprise Asset Management System, Asset Investment Planning and Asset Performance Management.
- On specific request, you write detailed reports following your analyses to present your recommendations.
- You will work closely with internal teams, such as long-term planning managers, asset managers, finance teams and so on.
- You will also be in contact with suppliers of IT tools to obtain information and evaluate solutions.
- You will ensure optimal collaboration and knowledge sharing with the client resources allocated to the project;
- You will contribute to increasing the maturity level and improving asset management processes.
**Technical skills required**:
- You have a working knowledge of ISO 55000 and/or PAS 55 (Must)
- You have experience in defining and implementing IT tools for Asset Investment Planning (Must)
- You have experience in asset management in the Utilities sector (Must)
- You have asset management experience in the energy distribution sector (Should)
- You have experience in managing electricity distribution or transmission networks.
- You have a good knowledge of the European market and of asset investment planning tools (Should).
- You have experience in defining and implementing asset performance management tools (Should)
- Experience in writing functional requirements and/or specifications for asset investment planning tools (Should)
- Experience in developing asset management business cases (Should)
- Experience in one or more of the following technologies is a plus:
