**Role Overview**

**We are looking for**:
The Global Purchasing Manager will be working within the Aroma Global Business Unit where they will acquire market knowledge, to develop, share, implement and manage purchasing strategies, to conduct key negotiations, to develop, manage and follow up the processes and available resources, to ensure suppliers act in accordance with Solvay's Sustainable Development/CSR-strategy and to pro-actively participate in purchasing networks in order to deliver savings and enhance purchase productivity and realize for their internal customers, uninterrupted supply of goods and services at the optimal conditions.

**We count on you for**:

- Stay updated about trends and evolutions within own market and about all other (financial, legal, competitive ) information relevant for the own domain and perimeter.
- Benchmark purchasing policies, processes, procedures and approaches with other relevant companies.
- Gather and consolidate for own purchase portfolio the purchase needs of the Group.
- Meet on a regular basis with internal partners (internal clients and prescribers) in order to stay informed about their business, their challenges and their purchase demands and needs.
- Prepare for Strategic Sourcing Decision Committee (SSDC) meetings and participate in the SSDC meetings, if required for contract/orders values within own perimeter according to the Solvay’s Purchasing Process.
- Ensure the coherence of the purchasing strategies between the internal customers and inform own management about conflicts.
- Together with his/her internal customers and the own management, identify priorities, and prepare projects and action plans accordingly.
- Implement projects and actions plan in the network, arrange the necessary resources to realize them and follow them up.
- Based on SSDC approval (if applicable based on contract value and/or strategic importance), meet with potential suppliers/subcontractors and negotiate contract conditions with selected suppliers/subcontractors.
- Discuss the results of the negotiations with the internal customer and own management.
- Ensure contracts are approved by the Syensqo’s legal department (if necessary) and the supplier.
- Prepare and finalize the contracts and service level agreements (SLA’s) with the subcontractors and suppliers.
- Review the overall compliance of all contracts under own responsibility.
- Deploy the contract within own perimeter and communicate the purchase contracts to all relevant stakeholders.
- Follow up whether the supplier / subcontractor respects the agreements and performs up-to-standard.
- Collect and analyze information about the execution of the contract, and ensure reporting to the internal customers and own management.
- Resolve the disputes during the execution of the contract, and arbitrate in case of conflicts between internal customers.
- Monitor supplier evaluation.
- Assess potential opportunities in terms of gains, productivity and innovation, identify the levers to realize cost reduction and calculate the realized benefits.
- Suggest, implement and follow up projects to reduce purchasing cost and support the contractualization process.
- Install and steer processes ensuring the information exchange within own network.
- Promote purchasing ethics, and ensure that the network respect the policies and ethical standards.
- Explain the purchasing processes and methods to the internal customers.
- Measure and report actions taken and economies realized.
- Coordinate the internal purchasing networks (prescribers, users, ), and ensure its professionalism.
- Prepare, propose, implement and follow up the domain/subdomain budget, objectives, policies and procedures.

**You will bring**:
Education and Experience:

- Degree in Chemistry, Economics, Business, Supply Chain or related field; MBA is a plus
- 5+ years experience with complex procurement negotiations in chemical businesses
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment

**Skills**:
