To strengthen our **Patient Safety & Medical Management function**, based in any of our **Brussels (Belgium), Monheim (Germany), Slough (UK) or Raleigh (US) offices** we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of **Safety Lead **within the **Immunology PSU**.
As a **Safety Lead** you will have the following responsibilities:
- The Safety Lead (SL) is responsible for the global strategic safety risk management of assigned products.
- Through chair/co-chairship of the Benefit Risk Team, the SL is responsible for leading the benefit-risk assessment of the product, ensuring it remains current, and that changes to the assessment are followed by appropriate discussion and actions, per UCB’s governance principles.
- The SL is responsible for developing, presenting and defending appropriate patient safety position on benefit-risk matters at the Patient Solution Team (PST) or Patient Value Solutions (PVS) or Established Brands Unit (EBU) and for reporting back to the Patient Safety and Medical Management organization relevant information regarding status, issues, challenges etc.
- The SL is accountable to the PST/PVS/EBU to lead in a matrix structure for the Benefit/Risk activities that ensure the timely signal detection, risk management/minimisation plans, safety analyses in aggregate reports and the scientific review of safety related information, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of the safety information in responses to Health Authorities, product labeling and investigator brochures.
- The SL ensures patient safety for UCB products and maintenance of compliance with the Pharmacovigilance regulations of Regulatory Agencies around the globe through the effective and timely completion of PV Assessment activities through product development, product maintenance and life cycle management.
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following **education**, **experience** and **skills**:
- PhD or MD preferred
- Pharmaceutical industry experience with a proven and successful track record in scientific and project team leadership.
- Understanding of the global pharmacovigilance and safety requirements from non-clinical development through the registration process and onto the market.
