**A day in the life of a Business Controller & Advisor**
As Finance Treasury Controller & Advisor, you will be responsible for and contribute to:
- Keeping the bank safe and compliant through a solid closing process, ensuring we remain in control of ING’s Treasury and Financial Markets business
- Delivering optimal financial accounting processes and solutions, translating business events into the general ledger according to the applicable accounting principles
- Explaining evolutions and supporting the Reporting team for statutory & regulatory reporting
- Performing ad hoc analysis / in-depth analytical reviews;
- Acting as gatekeeper of the bank’s hedge accounting processes
- Continuously improving our processes and quality of output

You are a self-starting and critical individual willing to zoom in, in order to zoom out. Furthermore you have:
- Master’s degree, preferably in the areas of Finance, accounting, business administration or business economics
- Knowledge of Finance and preferably of treasury & ALM (asset & liability management)
- Knowledge of financial markets instruments (e.g. derivatives, bonds, repo’s, Foreign Exchange) and IFRS 9
- Communication skills: the ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of stakeholders (incl. high value specialists and general management)
- You don’t shy away from complexity, are eager to learn, pro-active and able to work both autonomously and in team
- As a Business Controller & Advisor, you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn how Treasury (‘the bank within the bank’) supports the commercial businesses and keeps ING safe by managing liquidity, solvency, funding and financial risk
- Interact with a broad range of local and global stakeholders, such as Treasury and Financial Markets, Group Finance, Local Finance teams, Service Centers

**The team**
The Finance Treasury team is part of the Center of Expertise (CoE) Financial Accounting Control & Advice within the Financial Management department. The CoE is composed of 3 teams: Finance Treasury, Lending & Commercial Bank and Ledger Manager & Analysis.
The team consists of 7 diverse members in Brussels. Furthermore we receive support from our FA Hub in The Philippines. We work in a hybrid setup: 50% division between working from home and at the office.
We are Finance experts with an interest in, and thorough understanding of, Finance, Treasury and Financial Markets. Together we are ambitious to stay on top of this field through our day-to-day activities and longer term vision to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of our output.
