VIB has a long-standing and successful history of translating scientific breakthroughs into impactful societal innovations and new innovative biotech companies.
At VIB, scientific breakthroughs are stimulated by providing centralized technology support through the VIB Technologies program. This program has a unique approach by offering access to state-of-the-art technologies along the entire technology uptake flow, ranging from mediating early access to technologies elaborated by Tech Watch through service on state-of-the-art platforms in core facilities. The 100+ colleagues working in the VIB Technologies program are supporting the VIB community with their technology-focused expertise.
To further strengthen its institutional technology support, VIB is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager for the VIB Technologies program, to bring a strategic and future-oriented roadmap for VIB’s Technology Program into operations. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing new technology strategies to ensure that the technology units are strengthening the top-level science in the institute. In this position, you will work directly with the Technology Director and Associate Technology Director, as well as with other project managers and colleagues within the VIB Technologies program.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Take the lead on a defined set of collaborative multiple-stakeholder projects
- Set up and steer project-specific task forces
- Prepare management reports (written and presentations format) to provide a state of affairs on ongoing projects
- Streamline management tools, communication, and reporting for the different VIB Technologies units
- Coordinate, coach, and support activities with external universities or research institutes
- Set up and further improve frameworks to unify the operations between different units of VIB Technologies
**Profile and skills**:
- Background and experience in the life science research sector
- Affinity for technology
- Experience as (project) manager and team leader
- Work experience in a multi-stakeholder environment

- Strong people, project & financial management skills
- Strong decision-making ability
