Our client is a company in industrial chemicals.
The **main accountabilities** for this job include:
- Responsible for the consolidation process of 100+ legal entities, together with the Group Consolidation Manager;
- Preparation of interim (quarterly) and year end external reports, including consolidated income statements, balance sheets and cash flows, as well as required disclosures;
- Ensuring the accounting, consolidation and financial reporting is in accordance with applicable law and legislation (IFRS mainly);
- Review of required monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including multi-currency transactions and intercompany positions;
- Support the Group Consolidation Manager in dealing with technical accounting issues, owning IFRS16 and (deferred) tax positions. Asses and analyze any other (IFRS) guidelines that are or may become applicable for our client. This requires interpretation and judgement of financial accounting topics, including reliable documentation around that;
- Monitoring that strict deadlines are being adhered to during the consolidation and reporting process;
- Deliver technical accounting support to local finance teams;
- Involved in coordination of the external audit process, and assuring a smooth running of the audit process;
- Prepare the Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), related position papers, and the proper reflection of that in the consolidation. Our client has an active M&A-trajectory: We did 7 acquisitions during 2020 that all required the preparation of PPA;
- Assist in required periodic analysis, like impairment tests or pension accounting;
- Manage the integration of new acquired entities in the consolidation of the group;
- Follow-up the reconciliation between Group and local statutory accounts.
The **requested qualifications** for this job include:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a reporting, accounting or auditing role;
- Sound basic knowledge of IFRS;
- Process-driven, with excellent financial analytical and accounting skills;
- Highly organized, accurate and structured, able to work well under stress, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
- Familiarity in working with consolidation processes and with consolidation systems such as SAP BPC or OneStream(our client uses OneStream since 2021);
- Strong educational background, university degree level in Economics or Accountancy;
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office;
- Cultural awareness: used to working with different cultures and in multiple countries;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and confidence to convey information colleagues across the globe;
- Hands-on mentality and proactive attitude;
- Team-player, you are part of a high performing team.
