Corporate Communications’ primary responsibility is to protect and enhance AIG’s reputation and valuation. They deliver in-house “agency” services from a multidisciplined team with extensive experience in strategic advisory and integrated execution services for reputation-critical corporate activities. Capabilities include creating issues/response scenario plans to outline potential messaging and internal response structures for possible issues; developing

narrative/key messages and engagement strategy that best positions AIG with key stakeholders, internally and externally; coordinating stakeholder interactions to build support for AIG position, and where appropriate, call stakeholders to action; developing social/digital engagement strategy and supporting content that amplifies narrative/key messages across platforms; advising on appropriate level of engagement based on relevance/source of commentary, real-time issues monitoring and qualitative measurement; tracking engagement with messaging on social platforms and identify areas for adjustment, as needed; deploying strategy to communicate with colleagues across businesses, functions and geographies, building support and understanding for AIG position/actions; minimize distractions; mobilizing employees, as appropriate, to amplify key messages; and measuring employee sentiment as a guide for effectiveness of communications strategy and messaging.

About the role

What you need to know:
Reporting into the Head of Marketing & Communications for the Cluster France, Belgium & Luxembourg and working closely with the BeLux General Manager, you will manage the day-to-day internal and external marketing & communications for the country.

Main responsibilities:

- Develop marketing plan to drive awareness and growth of country and support underwriting teams to promote AIG offerings.
- Develop written corporate material.
- Draft and manage marketing & communications for the country manager (eg Appointment announcements, speeches, lectures, townhalls) and externally (eg Growth campaigns, client letters, PR/Media, speeches, thought leadership) aligned with processes and cluster guidelines.
- Manage the digital channels for the Belgium & Luxembourg, including intranet and external website (content development and management) and social media.
- Plan and coordinate employee engagement initiatives including diversity, equity and inclusion programmes for the country.
- Event management for local country manager/colleague hosted events for clients and brokers including townhalls, webinars, etc. in compliance with the processes.
- Ensure the respect of the Brand use.
- Overall responsibility for local Marketing & Communications budget.
- Support Cluster initiatives / projects.

What we’re looking for:

- Marketing & communications knowledge with 3-5 years’ professional experience, ideally in the finance or insurance business or other relevant industries.
- You speak Dutch fluently and are proficient in English & French with both strong written and verbal communication.
- Marketing & Communication-focused university degree.
- Ability to manage a complex workload and work to tight deadlines.
- Proactive, self-starter who is solution-oriented.
- Ability to work in teams, also in an international environment, both internally and externally.
- Commitment and dedication, flexibility and ability to cope with pressure.
