**About Bonhams**
Bonhams is a global auction house with an 18th century heritage poised for transformative change. Our global operations are based in London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles and Hong Kong where we sell in over 60 categories, including motor cars, paintings, jewellery, and entertainment memorabilia.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Represent Bonhams in Belgium with the aim of sourcing profitable business for exports in the luxury field.
- Work closely with all departments in the luxury filed in Paris and London: mainly jewellery, watches, wine & spirits, fashion and handbags, sports. Could cover as well other departments if needed.
- Organize sweeps and all clients meetings for specialists visiting the Brussels office or clients in Belgium for the luxury activities.
- Arrange contracts and shipping of clients property to sales locations and return if necessary.
- Liaise with the Ministry of Culture/Cites/Shippers/Department to arrange the appropriate export licences and import/export documents where necessary.
- Build, manage and maintain client database for luxury Belgium on Bonhams information system.
- Find and encourage private clients within the region to buy or sell through Bonhams.
- Assist in sending sale announcements and /or condition reports to relevant clients prior to sales.
- Create social media schedule: select items, write texts/hashtags.
- Participate to events in Belgium for the promotion of Bonhams business: valuation days, lectures, talk, charity auctions.
- Provide assistance for all Bonhams activities in Belgium.
- Investigate with collection cars department any cross, marketing and events activity.
- Work closely with our European offices regarding joint events, marketing and other projects.
- Establish and maintain relationships with collectors, boutiques, dealers, curators, art consultants, companies and banks who use or could potentially use Bonhams to buy or sell luxury goods.
- Establish Take bids and registrations from clients in luxury field for the sales by telephone or via post, mails.Support the team based in Brussels for any local sales.
**Key skills and attributes**
- Degree holder or equivalent.
- A good level of specialist expertise achieved through a previous role
- Previous experience in an auction house would be an advantage.
- Proven business acumen and valuation skills.
- A network of contacts (or) willingness to build up such a portfolio.
- Functional working knowledge of the whole auction process and related procedures (e.g. shipping regulations, VAT, taxes)
- Flexible and receptive to change.
- Excellent IT skills and interpersonal skills.
- Both written and oral fluency in French, English, Dutch is a high plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
- Able to work as part of team, and independently.
- Great team player.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.Excellent attention to detail.
