Automotive Analyst

Stratas Advisors is immediately seeking an analyst for its Global Automotive team in the Transportation and Demand practice with Python programming knowledge, and excellent analytical and research skills. Strong communication skills as well as the ability to work independently within a team are critical to this role.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare client-facing written analysis of automotive markets in reports/memos provided to clients as part of the Global Automotive Service and work related to the Stratas Automotive Interactive Model (AIM), as well as in other forms, such as PowerPoint slides/Excel data customized for clients in consulting engagements.
- Monitor and collect data/information on automotive industry developments, including overall market growth, vehicle sales, fuel economy trends, and the growth of electric vehicles and other alternative vehicles, at the regional, national, and subnational level in key markets around the world.
- Maintain and implement improvements on Stratas AIM, a Python-based model to forecast vehicle sales and fleet for key markets around the world.
- Support the Transport and Demand practice’s forecasting efforts.
- Help coordinate data and information sharing between the Automotive team and other teams/practices within Stratas Advisors, as well as assist with communication with clients.
- Provide both analytical support and market insight in strategic consulting engagements on an ad hoc basis.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree and/or work experience (in lieu of advanced degree) in engineering, economics, energy, data analytics, or forecasting with exposure to programming is a plus.
- Experience in an analyst/research role at a consulting firm, operating company, financial institution, or academic institution with a focus on the automotive industry, mobility, batteries, and/or related analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving/critical thinking skills.
- Basic understanding of the automotive industry including familiarity with basic automotive technologies, supply chain, industry trends, and regulatory environment.
- Understanding of general economics and familiarity with international markets.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities such as consulting is desirable.
- Willingness to travel for business on an occasional basis (less than 10%).
- OPTIONAL: Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, and/or Portuguese language skills are a plus.
