WeForest is a fast-growing non-profit organization protecting and restoring forests and funded by brands (like Nike), foundations and philanthropists. **Responsibilities**
Working within a team that supports and nurtures our current funders, you will position WeForest **externally** to connect with our core audience of potential **new** partners and funders. Working closely with the CEO as well as the wider team you will develop and implement marketing content and strategies and tell our story with passion and credibility. As chief storyteller you are a fantastic copywriter and act as editor in chief for all our content to **ensure that all our content, branding and messaging is on point and done with excellence.**
You will build systems, structures, and strategies that build the top end of the fundraising funnel. This will include:
- **Content** marketing strategy development for your target audience of potential **new** partners and funders.
- **Content production and management**:You can create content yourself, though more often you will facilitate and manage the production of content (e.g. annual report, video scripts and finished videos, presentations, special campaigns, etc) with assistance from the team and freelance support. You will identify and manage the process to deliver on time and budget.
- **Copywriting**: Lead, shape and manage written content for web, social media etc. in close collaboration with our fundraising, science and operations teams. You will keep up to date with industry trends, advise on and adjust the content strategy and editorial line as necessary.
- **Editing**: Acting as as editor-in-chief for all content, you will ensure quality, clarity and consistency of brand voice, style and tone.
- **Website**:Maintain the (soon-to-be-launched) website branding and content, working with the Communications Manager for technical support.
- **SEO/SEA**:Manage the SEO/SEA processes and consultants to build organic search traffic over time; ensuring your analysis of results is used to optimize content.
- **Analytics and Tracking**:You will measure the impact of all content, adjusting where necessary and ensure our messaging is aligned. This will include editorial content audits to identify gaps and inconsistencies.
**Required skills and qualifications**
You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE writing and storytelling, have outstanding writing skills and storytelling capacities with an editorial eye. Experience of creating Forest and Landscape Restoration (FLR)-related content is strongly preferred. You also have:
- A passion for our mission, and commitment to our vision and values.
- A degree or master in journalism, translation, communication, marketing, advertising (as copywriter), Business Administration or another relevant field and/or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience with a similar role such as Content Manager or Copywriter in an agency.
- Outstanding spoken and written English, good knowledge of at least a second European language is an asset.
- The ability to turn rough copy into engaging, inspiring, clear, concise and authoritative FLR-related content for a wide range of audience, encompassing both digital and traditional communications activity.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- The understanding of Google algorithms and optimization tools (no technical knowledge is required).
