**JOB DESCRIPTION**
This hands-on role plans, directs and carries out organization-wide safety and environmental programs in
order to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free workplace, aligning the global business vision of the
Company. Develop and promote sustainable processes that maximizes the safety, environment and health
of our employees and contractors and customers. Your initial and main focus will be Belgium, gradually you
will extend your working area to the entire EMEA region. While in Belgium you have an operational and
advising role, in other EMEA entities your role is to advise.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Oversees and directs safety and environmental compliance initiatives to maintain compliance with
- national, state, and local regulations.
- Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and national
- rules and regulations.
- You act as Secretary in the Belgian Committee for Prevention and Safety at Work (“CPBW”).
- Develops and implements programs and policies for monitoring and preventing chemical, physical,
- and biological hazards.
- Surveys, compiles, and analyzes data relating to occupational and environmental health issues such

as chemical exposure, smoke, fumes, noise, temperatures, dusts, vapors, mists, gases, solvents,
lighting, and ergonomics which are known or suspected of being real or potential detriments to
health.
- Consolidates safety measurements, safety evaluations, and hazardous waste evaluations for all

required reporting.
- Guides and checks commissioning of new equipment in organization facilities.
- Develops and implements process for tracking permit requirements including air quality, storm
- water, etc.
- Serves as technical resource to assist with study and recommendation of control measures for
- exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
- Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health. Develops and

implements programs and systems to track and evaluate worker injuries. Recommends preventive
actions plans and corrective measures.
- Maintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations.
- Develops and facilitates training for team members on issues related to health and safety.
- Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire

prevention, first aid, proper use of personal protective equipment, and correct handling techniques
for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
- Regularly inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential incidents and health hazards,

determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures
have been implemented.
- Facilitates EH&S audit and certification programs including third-party and annual self-audits.

Monitors progress on any remediation steps or findings.
- Assist with due diligence as needed
- Make site visits when necessary to conduct audits or observations related to environmental, health,
- safety issues
- Anticipate potential business impacts of changing EH&S requirements

**PROFILE**:

- Master degree, preferably in Engineering
- You are trained as a Prevention Advisor level II (according to Belgian regulations)
- Strong background in a manufacturing environment
- You have strong affinity with the technical dimension of safety
- You act as a real business partner, being assertive and diplomatic at the same time
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to make decisions using ethical reasoning and sound judgment
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage conflicts to satisfactory resolution
- You feel happy in a fast-paced environment and love the dynamics of an international company
- Prepared to travel
- Flexible and solution oriented
- Fluent in Dutch and English
