- Role Overview As a Business Controller of the Freight business at... Belgium, you will act as a key financial partner to operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting while driving performance insights across a fast-paced logistics environment. You will analyze financial and operational data (e.g., volumes, FTEs, cost structures) and translate this into clear recommendations for operational teams and senior management.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and explain monthly financial results, including variances versus budget and prior months
- Develop, track, and validate key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment between financial and operational data (e.g., volumes, productivity, FTEs)
- Lead the preparation of detailed budgets and forecasts, aligned with business strategy and operational realities
- Partner closely with depot, transport, and operations managers to review performance and challenge results
- Translate financial analyses into actionable insights and propose corrective actions to management
- Prepare and deliver periodic reporting to the GLS Group, including volumes, headcount (FTEs), financials
- Perform ad hoc analyses on business performance and support strategic and operational decision-making
- Actively contribute to cross-functional and improvement projects
- Continuously improve and optimize controlling processes (budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and data quality)

- Professional proficiency in Dutch, French, and English - Technical Expertise
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling, data analysis)
- Hands-on experience with BI tools, preferably QlikSense, including the ability to design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports
- Strong data analysis, data visualization, and data integrity skills
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems - Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Applied Economics, Business Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in controlling, financial analysis, or a similar role
