**Description Overview**

The Payroll Specialist will Perform payroll and related activities necessary for the calculation of accurate wages and salaries to Company associates.

**Scope of the Role**

• Calculate biweekly payroll and other miscellaneous compensation payments.
• Summarize information, prepare data for processing on personal computer.
• Determine time worked from time sheets. Verify proper authorizations.
• Resolve pay anomalies from knowledge of Company practices, such as pay rates, overtime, sick, vacation, and holiday pay policies.
• Confer with supervisors and associates when necessary.
• Input employee information and payroll data into personal computer.
• Reconcile wage, hour, salary, and deduction amounts where applicable.
• Prepare data and authorizations for accounting audit.
• Oversee and direct the activities of the payroll coordinator.
• Conduct training to ensure appropriate back-up for essential payroll and benefit functions.
• Prepare payroll related reports.
• Process deductions.
• Calculate payments to outside providers for employee benefits.
• Compile data and file reports as required.
• Establish and maintain directories in HRIS for earnings types, deductions, tax tables, and the like.

**Experience Required**

High School or vocational qualification, with an accounting/ finance degree highly desirable.

Ideally 5+ years experience in a related role.
