Specialist Engineering Entry

Position **:R&D Junior project Leader**
**for DIAMOND TOOLS **IN THE CONSTRUCTION & STONE INDUSTRY**
**Job summary or overall objective**:
**Develop the expertise in our metallurgy and production processes for diamond tools.**

**Manage the related R & D programmes.**

**Typical objectives**:

- Assist his/her Manager in several projects in collaboration with the local R&D teams and quality teams in the different factories (China, Sweden, USA, Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal)
- Participate/Conduct deep analyses linked to all materials and assembling (steel, powders, diamonds and resins)
- Contribute to develop and characterize the metallic bond composition(s) used in the different production units
- Implement processes improvements in Production (leading 8D, Quality plans support, ) into our various sites in Belgium, China, Sweden, US (Columbia), Portugal, Bulgaria
- Support Product Management team and consolidate trials follow-up related to R&D projects
- Introduce or consolidate lab evaluation methods in order to support metallurgical (and resins )developments - incl. Universities contacts
- Maintain and create contacts with Suppliers (Metallic Powders, Steels cores, lab equipment, Laser Welding or Brazing suppliers )
- Complete reporting and summaries related to R&D projects trials and milestones
**Accountability dimensions & General**

Reporting to Metallurgy & Lab Manager
- He/She works on 2-3 projects costing several hundreds of k€ and creating value like EBIT on new sales or savings on current production of 100k€/year minimum._
- Husqvarna & Diamant Boart activities are spread worldwide. Travels are necessary in order to assist a process improvement or introduction in our Factories; check the tools performances etc. Approx. travels frequency: 1 - 3 times per month._

**Required: Master Degree Civil **Engineer in Material Sciences
Final thesis on metallurgy & powders sintering or equivalent acquired experience would be appreciated.
**Plus: Knowledge **in powder sintering production processes &/or Laboratory equipment for various analysis &/or steel properties.
