As Area Sales Manager, you run a cluster within the Customer Brands organisation. You are responsible for the commercial strategy and create growth opportunities for Paulig by building and managing the retail & distributor business for the area Eastern Europe. You also build relationships and develop close partnerships with the customers. It’s your goal to ensure that all potential and profitable sales opportunities are maximized continually. You develop and grow the market position and always drive towards market and category leadership.
You report to the Commercial Director, reporting to the SVP Business Area Customer Brands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
- You develop and implement retail business plans and set detailed sales
- and margin targets for the local sales organizationand you monitor the results.
- You maximize distribution opportunities and secure a long term strong market position.
- You strive for category excellence and development. It is your goal to build long lasting partnerships with major retailers and find win/win solution for both parties. As a customer knowledge expert you think along with the client, relying on your analytical skills and your insight in category management.
- You supervise efficiency, optimize the terms and conditions of contracts, resulting into a win-win-negotiation, frame agreements and account-and action plans. You manage customer expectations in terms of quality, feasibility and timelines and take all initiatives to delight your customer.
- You ensure assortment profitability. You manage and monitor direct sales costs and expenses, making savings where possible, accrual process.
- You are responsible for development, team building and motivation of all direct reporting personnel, perform yearly evaluation talks and build the organization in accordance with given function guidelines and the companies values.
- You are responsible for a continuous development of way of working - you maximize customer experience at optimized costs.
- You manage all direct controllable costs and optimize payment terms, minimize risk and payment control.
- You optimize outbound value chain together with supply chain / logistics and ensure an accurate forecast.
PROFILE
- You hold an Academic Master’s
- You have a track record in a commercial position in the private label (and/or branded) businesses (preferably in B2B Food) with an in-depth understanding of category management.
- You have a commercial attitude and strong negotiating skills, able to constantly think in terms of results and client satisfaction, ambitious to grow the Eastern European market.
- You are proficient in analyzing figures, good organization skills and persistence.
- You are a result-oriented and driven team player with excellent communication skills and are able to develop strong partnerships and work cross-functional at different levels in the organization.
- You combine strategic thinking with a process driven approach, but remain pragmatic.
- You have a pro-active and challenging mentality, you are self-motivated and self-directed. Willingness to walk the extra mile with the right mentality.
- You have a strategic and competitive mindset and you are strong in thinking outside-in. You also have the ability to bring your ideas to life towards key stakeholders.
- You are flexible, proactive and stress resistant. You have the ability to work effectively in a structured way of working and to guide your team.
- You have the ability to give direction within a changing environment. You fit in well into a company culture that is ambitious, down-to-earth, straightforward and with a flat structure.
- You are fluent in English, knowledge of other languages is a plus. Flexible to travel.
