Then you could become the driving force behind one of the 6 multidisciplinary design chapters within Proximus._
Within our recent design chapter area, we work in a matrix structure where multidisciplinary design chapters, combined with expertise guilds and a few Centers of Excellence (CoE), ensure that Proximus works in a user-centric manner to the maximum extent possible.
- Design chapters guarantee the quality and in-time delivery of the design deliveries within the different tribes. For this purpose, different types of designers (Business & Service, UX, UI, Conversation/copy/content, etc.) work together within the involved squads.
- Each designer role also participates in a guild with the aim of increasing specific expertise, facilitating standardization and tooling, and exploring new innovations and forward-thinking.
- This matrix structure is complemented by a few Centers of Excellence that fulfil specific roles (Design ops, design system, product experts, etc.).
Currently, we are looking for a new chapter owner for 'New ecosystems'.
As a Chapter owner, you are the **functional reporting line** of your team. In collaboration with the guilds, you ensure that your employees **become better designers** and that all design deliveries within your scope meet the **quality** standards of the design chapter area within Proximus. And that they are delivered within the agreed-upon **timing**. To achieve this, you **coach** the different designers on the content of their design work and ensure that the different design disciplines collaborate well, with quality and efficiency.
You understand the needs of the business very well and can bridge the gap between these business needs and the needs of your designers. You help your designers **maximize their impact** within their squad and coach them on content, approach, as well as their attitudinal and interactional skills. At the same time, you cultivate t-shaping because within your chapter, all designers can learn from each other. However, a pronounced growth in their specific design expertise is the responsibility of the specific guild lead with whom you have regular consultations.
To bring all of this together, you are also the lead of the chapter homecoming day. In this ceremony:
- You promote cross-pollination and consequently personal growth within your chapter.
- You stimulate improved qualitative delivery of the designs.
- You ensure a better understanding of the business objectives and interdependencies between the different initiatives on which the various designers are working.
- You ensure a proper allocation of design resources within the tribe:
- To the best of the possible extent and available resources, you determine your team as a chapter owner.
- Therefore, you decide in which squad we should work with experts and in which squads we should opt for generalists in design.
- If there is no fit between the designer and the squad, you can replace the designer through consultation.
- When there is insufficient capacity, you also indicate from which other squad support can come or assist the Product Owners (POs) in prioritizing.
To fulfil this role, you are not only a **servant leader** to your design team but also a **solid partner** of the tribe(s) you work for (tribe owner, PO Leads, and POs). Therefore, your presence in certain meetings or ceremonies of the tribe will be necessary.
As a member of this management team, you discuss the challenges related to governance within the broader organization of Proximus. You identify proof of concepts (POCs) to solve these problems, share the results of your initiatives, and assist your colleagues in case of issues. You also contribute within the chapter area to achieve our goals... Together, we will become the 'best design team in Belgium'.
Your Profile
Must:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in people management and/or coaching, preferably in an agile environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a designer (Business & Service, UX UI, Conversation, Concept, Product, etc.) and therefore...
