In order to identify and quantify the investments required for the energy transition, our client needs to build flexible, configurable scenarios, given the many long-term uncertainties. Our client would like to strengthen the skills of its Industrial Resource Planning team to help validate the assumptions of its scenarios, identify the need for additional data and structure its use.

Your offer may include a single consultant, or a combination of several consultants who together would have all the skills required (see Skills section).

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Help develop consumption and production scenarios on the distribution network, taking into account new uses linked to the energy transition.
- Interact with the various teams to gather the knowledge and information required for the analyses to be carried out.
- Identify, structure and interpret data relating to the new uses of the energy transition.
- Make data and results available in usable form in the client infrastructure.
- Synthesize and present results.

**Business context**

The acceleration of the energy transition, necessitated both by climate change and international tensions over access to energy, calls for a policy of adaptation and investment on the part of network operators.

While the speed and scale of the transition remain uncertain in the medium term, the expected impacts on the distribution network will be significant in any case, and our client needs to draw up scenarios for the evolution of its network in order to anticipate the needs and demands of its customers. Forecasting models indicate a need for both reinforcement and accelerated renewal of the electricity network.

The modernization of distribution networks is a crucial challenge in order to integrate the flexibility inherent in renewable energies and to take on changes in energy consumption and production behavior. Without electricity grids, there can be no renewable electricity, no electrification of mobility or heat demand. However, our client is well aware that grids must be transformed with a view to economic efficiency, while maintaining reasonable costs for customers.
