**Role Overview**

**We are looking for**:

- As Battery Dry Process Expert, you will actively participate in the development of the next generation of battery technology, in terms of materials, formulations and manufacturing processes.You will contribute to the success of projects and programs in the field of batteries by carrying out activities in our specific battery laboratory on Brussels’ site.
- Being part of the activities of SSBA lab linked to the Battery Platform, close continuous interactions, at a global level, is envisaged with the R&I Director of BatMat, with the program managers and the technical manager of the different projects.
- The RIC-B organization is looking for a Battery Dry Process Expert for SSBA (Solid State Battery Applicability) laboratory. He/She will depend hierarchically to SSBA Lab manager.

**We count on you for**:

- Provide technical leadership, support and direction for the new Li-Ion Battery technology development.
- Bring solutions for both practical and fundamental issues.
- Develop, characterize and validate new processes, establish controls for critical parameters to improve process robustness.
- Support the project leaders in the definition of the experimental plan for project & activities.
- Screen, identify and assess of new technology and research trends in academia and industry in your field of expertise.

**You will bring**:
Education and Experience
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or Material Science.
- Minimum 10 - 15 years of relevant working experience in plastic, chemical, packaging industries.
- Expertise in at least one of the following key R&I domains is a plus: lithium battery, polymer processing, electrochemistry, polymer physics.
- Solid fundamental understanding and hands-on troubleshooting experiences with different polymer processing approaches (i.e.: melt/extrusion coating, dry powder coating, calendering and lamination ).
- Familiar with electrochemical characterization of Li-Ion Batteries (i.e.: Cyclic Voltammetry, ionic conductivity in solution and solid state, symmetrical, half
- and full cells assembly).
- Fluency in English is required, French is a plus.
