**Responsibilities and Tasks**:

- Monitor policy developments on both national and EU levels;
- Identify and develop topics for research and policy initiatives or other ELF activities;
- Conduct research on specific policy developments at the EU level in one of the research areas of the Policy and Research Unit, namely: Sustainable Economy and Social Policy

Foreign Affairs, Neighbourhood and Enlargement

Digitalisation, Cybersecurity and New Tech

EU Institutions, Democracy, and Justice Affairs

Social and Political Cleavages Post-Covid
- Coordinate, review and support the publications of ELF member organisations and affiliated experts, and ensure that research output is in accordance with academic standards;
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of networks within the policymaking and the academic communities;
- On an ad hoc basis, participate in events, conferences and other meetings on behalf of ELF
- Contribute to the implementation of secretariat projects led by the Policy and Research Unit;
- Perform other duties, as necessary, in support of ELF’s mission and thematic focus areas (growth, values, progress);
- Perform administrative duties, as required in support of ELF’s mission and vision.
- Work or research experience of up to 2 years highly desired;
- Organised with proven ability to meet deadlines and manage own workload;
- Proactive self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team;
- Fluent written and spoken English with excellent communication skills;
- Proven writing skills, ideally journalistic or academic experience;
**Conditions**:

- Work contract conditions under Belgian law
- Contract is fixed for one year
