**Who are we?**

Innovating for life since 1986, IBA has become the **global leader** in proton therapy, considered as the most **advanced** and **accurate** form of radiotherapy in cancer treatments using **ionizing rays.**
Thanks to the unique properties of protons, tumors can be targeted more accurately while limiting exposure of the surrounding healthy tissues
We provide two types of therapy center: the IBA’s Proteus®PLUS which offer a multi-room solution and the Proteus®ONE who is a more compact single room solution that is easier to install, integrate and operate.
To date, more than 58 world renowned medical institutions have built a Particle Therapy Center with IBA across 3 continents.

**Mission**

**Roles and Responsibilities**
You will be in close contact with our academic partners to help them achieve their clinical vision. You will contribute to the prototyping and development of software for new treatment workflows and delivery modes. You will turn successful proof-of-concepts into solutions that are shared with users for research evaluation. You will integrate contributions and ensure maintainability within short life cycles. In particular, you will enrich tools to support the optimization of treatment plans and the identification of clinical cases most benefiting from new treatment modes thanks to a model-based approach. You will patent novel concepts and raise awareness of the radiation oncology community through publications.
- You have a **Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics or Computer science,** possibly a **PhD or equivalent** research experience.
- You acquired rich **software development skills**, preferably in MatLab, Python, Javascript (in particular NodeJS and Angular), Java and/or C/C++.
- You know, apply, and promote software development best practices.
- You are knowledgeable in medical physics and preferably have experience in an industrial, academic or clinical environment. More specifically in the field of radiation therapy. Ideally in the fields of Proton therapy and Treatment planning.
- You are a customer-oriented person with excellent interpersonal communication skills including presentation of ideas.
- You are able to report technical progress with different levels of abstraction to our different internal and external stakeholders.
- You are able to read, write and speak English.
- You are willing to travel up to 15% of your time if requested by one project.
