The Operations Financial Controller is part of the Operations team which is responsible for the commercial contract (Charter Party) execution and optimization.
The core responsibilities of the Operations Financial Controller will include Operations’ financial budgeting, analysis, reporting and controlling and will have various contacts in
- and outside the organization.
The Operations Financial Controller will also guide and coach operations team members to achieve the financial metrics.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tracking, reporting and analysing budget variances.
- Process Management, Process Analysis and Process Improvement.
- Recommending changes in policies or procedures that will improve financial performance.
- Providing accurate financial reports to various internal stakeholders.
- Ensuring that all accounts receivable and payable are respectively correctly collected and paid.
- Coaching of the team and working on ad hoc internal projects within the Operations team.
- Once a good understanding of the business is acquired, further responsibilities will be added

**Profile**:
Formal education:
Master degree in Finance, Business or Economics is required Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position or in an international audit firm.
Shipping industry experience is a plus, having interest in the industry is a must.
Knowledge Areas:
- Highly competent in advanced Excel, VBA macros & databases such as MS Access & MS SQL
- Strong knowledge of process management
- Knowledge of methodologies like Lean or Agile is a strong plus.

- Good data analysis skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Strong decision making, planning and prioritizing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player
Languages: Fluent in English and Dutch
