**CENTRE FOR SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY**

**YOUR TASKS**
- You devote at least 80% of your assignment to scientific research in synthetic biology and the metabolic engineering of microorganisms with a view to valorizing the results obtained.
- You supervise students at bachelor and master level in the framework of internships or bachelor or master thesis.
- You supervise doctoral students.
- You participate in the coordination of projects and collaborations.
- You co-write projects to attract funding.
- You attend (international) conferences and workshops to promote the research area of the research group and to actively establish new contacts.
- You collaborate in the internal and external services of the research group.

**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
- You hold a thesis-based doctorate in bioengineering.
- You have sound knowledge and extensive experience in the field of synthetic biology and transcriptional expression systems.
- You have solid experience with automation and fluorescence-based screening.
- You have relevant scientific publications in peer-reviewed international scientific journals with wide distribution and expert review of submitted manuscripts.
- Experience with engineering of non-model microorganisms such as Rhodobacter and Pseudomonas is a plus.
- Experience using SEVA-based DNA assembly systems is a plus.
- Experience with writing research projects is a plus.
- Experience with collaborations with industry constitutes a plus.
- You have strong time management and can meet goals within strict deadlines.
- You have a proactive, flexible and problem-solving attitude.
- You can express yourself fluently in English, both written and verbal.

**WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU**
- We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from June 15 till 31/12/2025.
- Your contract will start on 15/06/2025 at the earliest.
- Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate). Click here for more information about our salary scales.
