Tech Transfer

As Tech Transfer & Venture Developer you are responsible for the transfer of VITO technology to the industry, by creating spin-offs and by licensing or selling technology.

In order to be successful, you actively seek suitable projects within VITO and promote the submission of Tech Transfer files. You manage these projects until a successful transfer takes place.

For this:

- You recognise promising ideas and projects and are able to motivate people to achieve a spin-off or Tech Transfer related to this.
- You look for the right people to launch a spin-off, both inside and outside VITO.
- You assist teams in the creation of their business plan and financial plan.
- You create and maintain relationships with investors with the aim of providing sufficient funding for our projects.
- You negotiate new licensing agreements.
- You help ensure the monitoring and reporting of existing spin-offs and licences.
- You work on 2 to 5 projects at the same time; three quarters of your projects are Flemish, the other international.

**Profile**
- You have a Master’s degree in Business Engineering, (applied) economics, or have equivalent experience.
- You are entrepreneurial, good at negotiating and setting up contracts.
- You have experience with IP, patents and licences.
- You understand how to draw up business plans and financial plans.
- You possess good project management capabilities and are strongly results-driven.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in business development, technology transfer or venturing.
- You are fluent in English. Good knowledge of Dutch is a significant advantage.
