The project is jointly funded by the European Union (EU), the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), together with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the British Council. It is implemented by a team of experts from GIZ, the British Council, Expertise France, and Stichting Nederlandse Ontwikkelingsorganisatie (Netherlands Development Organisation, SNV), primarily based in Brussels.
We are looking for a curious, dynamic team player with an eye for detail to support our knowledge management and monitoring efforts. You will be working with the technical experts to collect and document the immediate and long-term results of our interventions and share lessons learned with partners across the ACP.
**Your tasks and responsibilities**
The Junior Specialist (M/F/d) will work closely with all team members and particularly with GIZ to:
- Coordinate the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) efforts of the ICR Facility, by collecting and structuring monitoring data, advising technical advisors on the M&E plans of individual interventions and conducting ex-post evaluation interviews with partner institutions.
- Identify lessons learned from interventions and support to develop knowledge products based on them, including reports/toolkits and peer-learning events
- Contribute to the ICR Facility´s knowledge management/sharing efforts, by keeping up to date with relevant literature, particularly on Business Environment Reform and Women´s Economic Empowerment, including with relation to the Green Deal
- Assist with planning, coordinating and documenting meetings, workshops, seminars and other project activities.
**Your profile**
- Master´s degree in economics, social/political sciences, gender studies or comparable with a focus on development policy or any other field relevant to the position or a related Bachelor´s degree combined with at least 2 years of work experience in a relevant field.
- You are familiar with basic concepts of economic development and policy reform and have some knowledge of at least one of the following topics: Women´s Economic Empowerment, Business Environment Reform, Private Sector Development, Financial Sector Development, Green Economy.
- You have a good understanding of M&E in the context of development cooperation.
- First professional experience in development cooperation and/or prior experience in a developing country, especially in an African, Caribbean, or Pacific country is an asset.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, MS Teams).
- You are fluent in English and ideally also in French; knowledge of German is a further advantage.
- You are willing to continuously learn and upskill as required by the tasks to be performed - corresponding measures are agreed with management.
- In addition to your professional expertise, your strengths lie in your attention to detail, analytical thinking and organisational skills as well as in your high degree of flexibility and ability to work in a team.
