EDFI Management Company (EDFI MC)and EDFI, The Association of European Development Finance Institutions are hiring a Freelance Senior Communication Specialist for an interim mission.

**Who we are**:
**EDFI Management Company (EDFI MC)** is an _EU-funded hub_ to manage **innovative** **development finance solutions**.
EDFI MC operates on behalf of 15 European Development Finance Institutions (_DFIs_) to offer financial services to **sustainable development projects** led by the private sector in **emerging and developing economies**. EDFI MC's product portfolio includes investment solutions, co-financing vehicles, and risk-sharing instruments. All these financing instruments are designed to contribute to the _Sustainable Development Goals_ and the _Paris Climate Agreement_.
Concomitantly, EDFI MC works in close operational cooperation with relevant DFIs and the EU throughout the investment process.
EDFI Management Company is a _multicultural_ organization with over 40 employees located in Brussels. The staff consists of specialized investment professionals, relying on the support of various departments.

**Your mission**:
By leading the communication team for EDFI and EDFI MC, the Senior Communications Specialist is expected to engage and collaborate with the EDFI staff, its network and its stakeholders to raise the profile of European bilateral DFIs and the EDFI financing facilities.

The Senior Communications Specialist will develop and implement the external communications strategy for the EDFI Association and for the EDFI Management Company and its investment facilities. The Specialist will be responsible for both entities’ positioning, external communication, and brand alignment as well for the communications plans related to the facilities managed by the EDFI MC.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Translate EDFI and EDFI MC’s business goals into external communication strategies and communication plans with the guidance of EDFI and EDFI MC senior leadership.
- Work across functional areas to proactively identify, develop, and promote communication messages that align EDFI and EDFI MC communication strategies.
- Ensure high-quality outputs across EDFI and EDFI MC communications channels, including website, newsletters, and social media.
- Coordinate the allocation of internal and external resources to prioritise and implement key deliverables.
- Establish and coordinate workplans for the communications team.
- Coordinate internal and external teams to develop and execute marketing tools, including brochures, presentations, publications and organise events.
- Draft public statements and handling media enquiries.
- Maintain contacts with external partners to ensure that a constructive long-term relationship can be built up
- Act as an internal specialist towards the line management when it comes to PR and Communications, and continuously follow-up the most recent developments and evolution of the sector.
- Manage the EDFI Communications Networking Group, composed of Communications Managers from across the EDFI Association’s member organisations.

**Required skills and experience**:

- At least 8 years of experience in external communications, preferably in the field of financial services, government or business association
- Experience leading a team in a cross-company context and setting priorities in line with strategy
- Demonstrated know-how in using different communications techniques and channels to deliver messages, including in various channels and promotion materials
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills
- Analytical, with the ability to think strategically and tactically
- Results-oriented with excellent personal organisation and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in teams and relate to stakeholders
- Service-minded, can-do attitude and able to work within a multi-cultural environment
