Careers: Jobs: Event Sponsorship CoordinatorReporting to EORTC’s Head of Communications and working under the supervision of the Senior Events Manager, the **Event Sponsorship Coordinator** oversees the sponsorship activities supporting the delivery of the Organisation’s major recurring scientific events.

**Role scope**

The Event Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for **securing sponsorship **from Industry** for EORTC events**, and for the **management and further development of relationships with (potential) sponsors / Industry partners**. This hands-on role requires strong interpersonal/networking skills, attention to detail, ability to self-manage as well as to work well within a small team.
- Note_: _Role eligible for part-time (75-80%)_

**Main responsibilities / Major Activities**:

- Assess the Organisation’s sponsorship needs to support delivery of EORTC’s main recurring scientific events; conduct market research to identify potential new sponsors;
- Develop strategy to market EORTC events to potential sponsors, and implement plans to attain sponsorships from relevant Industry partners/prospects to maximise revenue generation that will support event delivery;
- Maintain effective relationships with (potential) sponsors, and further develop EORTC’s network of Industry contacts/partners; act as a liaison between Industry and the Organisation, related to EORTC events sponsorship;
- Exchange with Industry partners/prospects on the value of EORTC events and the benefits for sponsors in return of sponsorship; organise meetings to this end, in the context of events attended or otherwise;
- Develop proposals for sharing with relevant Industry contacts to solicit sponsorship;
- Create sponsorship packages and ensure that communication materials aimed at acquiring sponsorships are coordinated and delivered as required;
- Monitor applicable Industry codes of conduct on global and local (event host country) levels, and ensure proposed sponsorship packages conform with these codes at all times;
- Secure sponsorships for EORTC events as per agreed (bi)annual event plan, ensuring timeliness and fulfilling related Industry procedures as required;
- Handle negotiations with sponsors and, in collaboration with EORTC’s Contracts Department, draft sponsorship agreements as required;
- Monitor - and internally report on - sponsorship sales, preparing and maintaining related financial overview;
- Organise debriefs with sponsors post event, collecting feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement;
- Draft event outcome reports - ensuring appropriate internal clearance - for sharing with sponsors post event, and develop appropriate related correspondence; draft sponsorship reports for internal documentation purposes;
- Manage Industry accounts, maintaining database of Industry contacts;
- Attend EORTC events in person - with the aim of meeting with Industry contacts / (potential) sponsors and nurturing network; support with manning the EORTC exhibition stand as needed.

**Profile**:

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field e.g., Marketing, Sales;
- 2-4 years of demonstrated work experience in partnership development / sponsorship solicitation in an international environment, ideally in the health sector; experience in event planning/management is a plus;
- Strong time & project management/planning skills; flexibility & high sense of priority setting - ability to work independently on multiple projects in parallel and deliver on agreed timelines;
- Strong interpersonal & networking skills - keen to work in a multidisciplinary team, and to develop & nurture effective working relationships with various stakeholders;
- Negotiation skills, ability to communicate with diplomacy; confident, friendly & professional attitude;
- Excellent command of English (written & spoken), and clear communication;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Knowledge of standard business software - proficient in the use of MS Office and familiar with the use of contact databases / Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
