WHAT WE OFFER

Legal support to ensure that we comply with all legal aspects regarding business and operations. For this role we have the following responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted and value adding legal business partner in discussions and decisions on relevant operational and/or strategic matters.- Be accountable for minimizing the company’s exposure to legal/economic risks and to best serve/enforce its commercial interests by drafting, reviewing and negotiating various agreements (such as agreements for the purchase of materials and services for the operations, as well as in the framework of site partners, appropriate real estate agreements and sales of site services) aligned with our strategy, guidelines and policies.- Advise, consult and contribute to the HR department on labor law related topics and issues..- Manage and report claims and litigations and related risks within local and global management.- Be accountable for (i) advising on and updating the corporate housekeeping in order to provide a clear and comprehensive overview of the corporate status, positions and representation competences, (ii) for fulfilling relevant corporate requirements (like board and shareholders resolutions, etc).- Managing the hiring of outside legal services.

Compliance- As Compliance Officer manage and be accountable for the development, implementation and communication of compliance activities, like trainings, performance of risk analysis, audits and compliance related investigations in co-operation with the Global Compliance Office and other functions, if required.- Accountable for regular reporting of compliance risk analyses, potential/confirmed compliance violations and training activities.- Accountable for implementing Covestro Group-wide and unit-specific compliance regulations, projects and activities.

Data Protection- As Data Privacy Officer be accountable that business and operations are acting in compliance with the EU regulations and the Belgian data protection law.- Responsible for the implementation of data privacy activities.Legal Contract Management- Being key responsible for the Contract Management to be maintained in the global contract database.

You will have a wide and diverse range of contacts with management, group headquarters, consultants, law firms, notaries and authorities.

WHAT YOU OFFER- Master degree in Law with relevant experience in the above mentioned domains- In depth knowledge of contract law- Basic/operational knowledge of labor and corporate law- Excellent negotiation and agreement drafting skills- Strong in communication strategy, communication and presentation skills- Good analytical skills- Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional and cross-regional teams and initiatives- Team Player- Excellent knowledge of Dutch & English language, in written and oral.
