The office building in Brussels (Machelen) houses ExxonMobil's regional headquarters for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA) and the European Technology Centre (ETC) for research and development.
To support the growth of our European Technology Center (ETC) in Brussels, we are looking for several Research Technicians in different groups. In ETC we strive to develop and maintain state-of-the-art capabilities to advance research in support for businesses throughout ExxonMobil. Research topics span from the discovery of novel catalytic material for new or more efficient production processes, to the development of next generation packaging solutions maximizing recyclability, via implementation of latest analytical techniques.

**What will you do?**:

- Safely operate equipment. This includes: start-up, taking samples, data logging, adjusting conditions, performing housekeeping duties, shutdown
- Work independently and plan and organize incoming requests efficiently; this includes prompt communication with requestors on job status
- The scope of the performed experiments are set by the Technology organization based on manufacturing and R&D program’s needs. Technology engineers provide background and instructions upfront as well as technical support on a regular basis.
- High quality awareness and honest reporting is a must
- Understand the importance of details, have good observation skills and flawlessly execute activities order to meet quality requirements
- After gaining experience, take ownership of the related equipment and propose improvement ideas to increase safety and efficiency.
- Interact with different groups and levels in the organization

a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Production Technology, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- We offer different jobs, starting with a 1- year full time contract with possibility of extension

- Working accurate, good observation and reporting / communication skills
- Understanding the importance and ensuring implementation of procedures
- Team player (being flexible and helping team members when needed)
- Taking initiative and being pro-active
- Passion for learning and willing to support.
- A reasonable standard of English is required (company documentation is mainly written in English and it is the lingua franca of the company). Additional language knowledge is a plus.
