Indirect Tax and Accounting Manager

As a Tax and Accounting Manager you will be part of an international finance team of Axa Partners located in Brussels. You will manage the indirect tax & accounting team made up of 2 members as well as the Treasury team made up of a team leader and 2 members. Beyond also contributing actively in the BAU, you will lead/contribute to any project requiring tax & accounting technical insight.
It is critical to develop more collaboration with GBS team (India) and automation to meet all objectives and to balance fairly management and direct contribution.
The scope is Northern Europe and also taxes on international contracts.
Regarding tax as well as Accounting, your global focus is to make sure norms are respected, data quality is improved and processes are in place to perform right booking and declarations.
The scope of responsibilities can evolve within the group organization.

DIMENSION OF THE ROLE
- Team management and interaction with other team and through project / business implementation
- Ensure norms are respected in the context of our business
- Make sure data quality is improved
- Develop processes between master systems and accounting as well manual entries.
- Ensure process documentation
- Optimize deliveries by improving the organization and processes, by increasing collaboration with GBS team (India) and by more automation where it lakes sense.
- Several contact with internal and external stakeholders: AP, AR, financial control, group, fiscal advisors
- Send instruction and ensure a fair alignment inside the finance team

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team management means work supervision, people growth, target setting, alignment with Head of Department among others
- Calendar of activities with strict respect of all deadlines
- Supervise and contribute to Tax management (IPT in several countries, VAT in Belgium, ‘Fiches fiscales’, various reporting )
- Supervise and contribute to accounting (all relating to GL but also support teams in terms of AP, MO, AR)
- Supervise and contribute to the treasury management (cash flows, cash forecast, travel expenses among others)
- Lead / contribute to projects
- Build complex reporting for group or authorities
- Follow group instructions and implement new rules and needs
- Contact with other teams (Finance, Sales, Ops, IT ) as well as external partners, fiscal advisors, auditors
- Accounts & tax reconciliation re local and international business
- Participate to periodic closing activities
- First level of internal permanent control which relates to tax & accounting

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Accounting & Tax high degree
- French and English, Dutch is an asset
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience in accounting & tax
- Experience in complex environment
- Prioritize activities
- Take initiatives in related responsibilities
- Understand the link between objectives & strategy
- Simplify/automate daily work
- Understand the impact of his/her work in other teams
